Dinosaur Game was created by Sebastien Gabriel, Alan Bettes, and Edward Jung, members of the Chrome UX team in 2014. Their goal was to soften the blow of a failed connection by turning a mundane error page (featuring a pixelated T-Rex) into a moment of fun. Little did they know they were creating a timeless classic.

The premise is instantly understandable. The screen shows a lonely T-Rex and the message "No internet." Press the spacebar, and the dinosaur starts running. The objective is simple: jump over cacti and duck under flying pterodactyls by pressing the spacebar (to jump) and the down arrow key (to duck).
